Benefits of Changing Your Home Air Filters

HVAC (heating, ventilating and air conditioning) systems work by recirculating air through the building. Since indoor air is up to 70 percent more polluted than outdoor air, each system contains a filter that traps pollutants, such as dust, bacteria, mold spores and pet dander, from continuously circulating.
While people rely on their HVAC systems daily, many neglect to change their air filters, which can result in illness, poor air circulation and system failure.

Healthy Air and Allergy Reduction

Any home activity can cause indoor air pollutants such as dust, mold spores and allergens to become airborne and travel throughout the home. These pollutants can can affect the health and well-being of residents, particularly with individuals who suffer from allergies. Home air filters capture these airborne pollutants as the air is circulated back through the HVAC system, and greatly increases the quality of indoor air. When dirty, however, the filters cannot remove any of these pollutants, and the particles are redistributed through the home.

Optimal System Efficiency

When air filters are not changed regularly, the HVAC systems must work harder to circulate air through the home. Dirty filters clog and hinder air movement, causing the system to consume more energy to continue circulating the air throughout the home. This causes the system to consume more energy, resulting in higher energy bills for the homeowner.

Keeps the System Running Smoothly

Air filters not only clean circulating air, but they also keep the system's interior clean and working properly. Clogged filters allow dust and other airborne debris to become trapped in the inter-workings of the HVAC system, which can ultimately cause the system to fail long before it would with proper filter upkeep.

Changing the Air Filter

Air filters should be changed or cleaned at least once a month or as directed by the manufacturer's instructions. If you have any questions or believe that your HVAC system is not functioning properly, call us for a HVAC tune up and maintenance today.

Our technicians are expertly trained to service all makes and models and with our No Surprises Pricing the price we quote is the price you pay. There are never any unexpected charges even if the work takes longer than we expected.

Importance of Maintenance on your HVAC

Heat and air systems are composed of complicated machinery that requires regular maintenance to prolong the life of the equipment. Changing filters regularly is your first line of defense, but just as changing oil is somewhat the bare minimum in vehicle maintenance, there is likewise much more to be done in an HVAC system maintenance schedule. The chemical cleaning of condenser and evaporator coils will pay rich dividends to the homeowner who performs this type of maintenance as needed or has it done via a service contract.

Checking the amperage draws of electrical parts can provide early insight into potentially disastrous and expensive repair work in the future, such as a compressor failure. If you don’t have a working knowledge of electronics or have a functioning multi-meter on hand it would be advisable to get a service contract.

At Freyaldenhoven we provide a wide array of service packages and parts/labor contracts for warrantable equipment (especially new equipment) that are both affordable and are guaranteed to save you time and money on future repairs or equipment replacement, mostly the ones you won’t need because we usually spot the problem before it even happens. Be smart, and be cool.

To find out all the benefits of our maintenance program, please give our office a call at 501-329-2951. We look forward to hearing from you.

What A "Cool" Job

“Most people hope for a job that gives them personal satisfaction beyond a paycheck. I know that’s the case for me working for Freyaldenhoven Heating and Cooling. There’s nothing more gratifying than knowing that the work I do here brings people comfort in their day to day lives. Whether at home or in the office, it’s good to have a comfortable environment. When I know a customer is too hot or too cold I think back to the times in my life when I was either without heat/air, or just waiting on the repairman, and what that felt like. We strive to keep good communication lines open with our customers regarding their repairs and new equipment installations so they can make plans accordingly. When necessary we take extraordinary steps to facilitate parts and equipment delivery. Many times the owners themselves will drive many miles to get jobs done. Everyone I work with strives to bring a maximum value to the work we perform. When I go home each night my toddler asks me what I did at work, and I tell him I helped people to be cool. That’s a good feeling.”
